I'm prepping to work on my 4-cyl K24 (CR-V) timing chain and want to know which aftermarket brands are reliable versus Honda's parts. I am looking at kits from Melling, Cloyes, Ina, and tensioners from SAG, Ina, Cloyes. Any thoughts please? The tensioner's about 8 years old, so it might be failing. Thanks

Cloyes and INA are both reliable for timing kits and tensioners. Melling is decent too, since your tensioner's 8 years old, replacing it now should be a good call just avoid cheap no name parts

I absolutely agree, Cloyes and INA have proven quality, and Melling is great too

OEM Honda parts are usually the safest bet for long-term reliability, but if you want aftermarket, Melling and INA are solid choices. Cloyes can work, but people say their quality is hit or miss, but obviously not according to @TheViscount and @Maroon. If your tensioner is 8 years old, replacing it with either OEM or INA is a smart move.
